Vintage Emile Monier French Firefighter Rescue Medal Pompiers Gilt Ribbon

The gilt-coloured medal features a detailed dramatic rescue scene showing firefighters carrying an injured person from a burning building, with ladders and flames visible in the background.

The artist’s name, Émile Monier, is engraved / signed within the design to the front.

The medal is suspended from a decorative laurel mount and a ribbed ribbon in blue, white and red with green outer edges.

The reverse features an allegorical female figure beside a large blank circular presentation field surrounded by foliate decoration.

Condition:

The ribbon shows some fraying and loose threads along the upper edge, together with general age and handling wear. The suspension pin remains present.
