Vintage Montana Silversmiths “S” Initial Western Belt Buckle

A decorative vintage Western belt buckle by Montana Silversmiths, featuring an ornate engraved scroll design with a large contrasting gold-coloured letter S to the centre.

The oval buckle has a highly detailed silver-coloured face decorated with traditional Western floral and scrolling engraving.

The central S initial is picked out in a contrasting gold-coloured finish, while a matching twisted rope-style border frames the outer edge.

The reverse is stamped:

MONTANA SILVERSMITHS COLUMBUS MONTANA

The traditional hinged belt loop and fastening stud remain present.

Montana Silversmiths has produced decorative initial and monogram Western buckles for many years, and closely related engraved initial designs remain part of the company's range today.

The buckle is of plated base-metal construction and is not being represented as solid sterling silver or solid gold.

Condition:

There is noticeable wear and loss to the plated finish on the reverse, exposing areas of the underlying base metal.

The decorated front remains attractive overall, retaining strong engraved scroll detail, the contrasting gold-coloured S initial and rope-style border.
