Vintage Japan Lustreware Hand Painted Bird Tea Cup & Saucer Set Decorative
Pickup currently not available
Charming vintage Japanese lustreware tea cup and saucer featuring a hand-painted bird design with colourful detailing over a classic iridescent glaze. A lovely decorative piece and a nice example of mid-century Japanese export ceramics.
Condition:
Good overall vintage condition. The cup and saucer show expected age-related wear, and the saucer has visible paint blemishes from the original hand-painted decoration (please study the pictures). Cup rim and handle are clean, and the lustre finish still presents well.
Circa:
Estimated 1950s-1970s. Hand-painted bird motifs and lustre finishes were very popular in Japanese export pottery during this period.
Maker / Notes:
Typical of mid-century Japanese lustreware makers producing scenic and bird-themed designs for giftware and tableware export markets. Hand-painted decoration means each piece is slightly unique.
