Vintage Godinger Silver Plated Large Wire Grape Leaf & Vine Basket

A large silver-plated wire fruit basket by Godinger, decorated with cast grape clusters, vine tendrils and leaves around the rim and at the base of the arched handle.

The basket body is formed from looped and crossed wire in an open lattice construction, giving the piece a light, elegant appearance. Cast grape and leaf decorations are applied at intervals around the scalloped rim and where the handle meets the body. The interior base features a further cast grape cluster motif.

The arched handle is formed from twisted wire, terminating in a cast grape and leaf group at one side.

Marked Godinger to the underside.

Suitable for use as a fruit basket, bread basket or decorative centrepiece.

Condition:
Good vintage condition. The silver-plate finish shows tarnishing and dulling consistent with age and use, particularly to the interior base and lower body. The wire construction and decorative castings are intact. Please study all photographs carefully as they form an important part of the condition description.
