Vintage Montana Silversmiths Flying Eagle Western Belt Buckle – Silver Plate

A highly decorative vintage Western belt buckle by Montana Silversmiths, featuring a large raised flying eagle surrounded by elaborate engraved scrollwork and contrasting gold-coloured detailing.

The shaped buckle has a silver-coloured engraved ground with a prominent three-dimensional gold-coloured eagle to the centre.

The surrounding decoration incorporates floral accents, geometric detailing, dark contrasting recessed areas and a twisted rope-style border, creating the distinctive elaborate Western appearance associated with Montana Silversmiths buckles.

The reverse is clearly stamped:

MONTANA SILVERSMITHS SILVER PLATE COLUMBUS MONT.

The original hinged belt loop and fastening stud remain present.

Condition:

Please note that there is substantial deterioration to the silver-plated finish across the reverse, with large areas lifting, flaking and exposing the underlying metal.

This is particularly noticeable around the upper and outer areas and is clearly shown in the photographs.

The decorated front remains visually attractive overall, retaining strong raised eagle detail, engraved scrollwork and contrasting gold, silver and dark-coloured decoration.
