French 17e BCP Chasseurs a Pied Military Badge Drago Paris Nice Leather

Vintage French military insignia for the 17e Bataillon de Chasseurs à Pied (17e BCP), mounted on a stitched leather backing.

The silver-coloured metal insignia is formed around the traditional chasseurs hunting horn, prominently numbered 17, with a Cross of Lorraine and thistle motif within the centre.

The 17e Bataillon de Chasseurs à Pied was a French Army chasseurs unit historically associated with Rambervillers and Lorraine.

The shaped leather backing is stamped DRAGO PARIS NICE to the reverse, identifying the manufacturer.
