Vintage Royal Automobile Club Associate car badge dating from the 1930s, designed for mounting to a radiator, grille or badge bar on a period motor car.
The circular badge features raised “ROYAL AUTOMOBILE CLUB ASSOCIATE” lettering around the outer edge, a crown to the top, laurel decoration and a winged figure beneath the central emblem.
At the centre is a coloured enamel Union Jack mounted within a spoke-style surround.
The reverse is marked:
PROPERTY OF R.A.C.
The original threaded mounting stud and securing nut are still present.
Condition:
The metal surface shows pitting, oxidation, rubbing, scratches and areas of plating loss, particularly to the rear and around the lower mounting section.
The threaded fixing stud has surface rust and tarnishing.
The central Union Jack enamel remains bright and attractive overall, with some small marks and age-related wear.
Please study all photographs carefully for the exact condition.
